Conveyor Metal Detectors
Conveyor metal detectors identify unwanted metal in materials moving on a belt before it can damage equipment or contaminate products. Bunting supplies configurable systems for sanitary processing, recycling, manufacturing, and heavy-duty bulk handling.
Install the detector around or beneath the belt, then connect it to alarms, line-stop controls, or automatic reject equipment. Bunting application engineers can help match the detector, aperture, controls, and reject method to your process.

About
Bunting Performer Series tunnel metal detectors inspect conveyed products for ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contamination. Configurations are available for food processing, pharmaceutical production, plastics, recycling, manufacturing, and bulk handling.
Search heads can be specified for washdown or epoxy-filled construction. Controls can connect to pushers, diverters, air blast systems, alarms, or line-stop functions. Detection performance depends on aperture size, product effect, belt speed, contaminant orientation, and operating conditions.
Key Benefits
- Protects product integrity and brand reputation
- Safeguards downstream equipment from damage
- Supports applicable industry standards and quality programs
- Helps reduce downtime and repair costs
- Integrates with available reject and line-control systems
Under suitable test conditions, systems may detect ferrous particles from 1.75 to 2.0 mm (0.069 to 0.079 in), non-ferrous particles from 2.0 to 2.5 mm (0.079 to 0.098 in), and stainless steel particles from 2.5 to 3.0 mm (0.098 to 0.118 in). Actual sensitivity varies by application.
