Bunting magnetic head pulleys replace the drive pulley at the discharge end of a conveyor to remove ferrous tramp metal from bulk material. As material passes over the pulley, clean product follows its normal path while captured metal is carried beneath the belt and released separately.
Choose a ceramic or rare earth permanent magnetic circuit for continuous separation without external power, or an electromagnetic design when adjustable field strength is required. Each pulley can be sized to match the conveyor belt and application.
Magnetic head pulleys support recycling, mining, aggregate, food processing, and bulk material handling operations. Their compact design provides continuous separation while helping protect downstream equipment and improve material purity.
- Continuous ferrous separation: Removes tramp metal as material discharges from the conveyor.
- Equipment protection: Reduces the risk of damage to crushers, grinders, and other downstream machinery.
- Permanent or electromagnetic options: Select ceramic, rare earth, or adjustable electromagnetic circuits for the application.
- Compact installation: Replaces the existing conveyor head pulley without adding a separate separation stage.
- Low maintenance: Permanent magnetic models operate without external power, and all designs use durable industrial construction.
- Custom sizing: Diameter, face width, shaft, bearing, and surface options can be matched to the conveyor.
