Bunting Magnetics is a leading manufacturer of magnetic conveying and separation equipment serving a wide variety of industries. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost and Inventory Analyst to manage and optimize our inventory costing processes and support financial decision-making. This role will be responsible for analyzing cost structures, monitoring inventory movements, oversite of the inventory cycle count program, ensuring accurate valuation, and supporting efficiency improvements across the supply chain and finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor, analyze, and report on inventory levels, variances, and turnover to ensure accurate and timely data.
• Evaluate product costs, standard cost updates, and margin analysis in collaboration with operations and finance teams.
• Reconcile inventory between physical counts and accounting records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare cost of goods sold (COGS) reports and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory.
• Work closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to improve inventory accuracy and reduce waste.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and data analysis.
• Support ERP and inventory system updates and ensure consistent costing methodology across systems.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory analysis, or related financial roles.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, cost accounting, and ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualification:
• Experience in manufacturing and distribution industries.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or supply chain optimization principles.
Work Environment:
• Office-based with occasional visits to warehouse or production sites.
