NEWTON, Kan. (Sept. 23, 2026) — Robert Bunting Jr., president and CEO of Bunting, has been elected to serve on the Plastics Industry Association’s Equipment Council and Public Policy Committee.

The association announced the election results Sept. 16 during its annual business meeting at the National Plastics Conference in Houston.

The elections give Bunting an opportunity to contribute its equipment manufacturing experience and perspective on the needs of plastics processors and recyclers to the association’s work on industry priorities.

“Bunting has a long history of helping plastics processors and recyclers remove metal contamination, protect equipment and improve material purity,” Bunting said. “I look forward to bringing that experience to the Equipment Council and Public Policy Committee and working with fellow members to support the industry’s future.”

Bunting manufactures magnetic separation, metal detection and conveying equipment for plastics processing and recycling applications.

Bunting joined the family-owned company in 2007 and became president and CEO in October 2022. His experience includes sales, product management and general management, with responsibilities spanning magnetic separation, metal detection and material handling.
