Bunting-Elk Grove Village located in Illinois, is a leading distributor of magnet materials and equipment serving a wide variety of industries. We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing/Inventory Planning Manager. This person is responsible for managing supplier relationships, identifying new suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, and verifying delivered items.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adding and removing parts in ERP (Epicor) and eCommerce platforms

• Build and maintain contracts with facilities management vendors (Lease, Electric, Garbage, HVAC, Water, etc.)

• Creating Certificates of Conformity, and other compliance related documents

• Credits and rebills

• Customer service (primarily large and difficult accounts)

• Cycle count set-up

• Developing diagrams/drawings of new parts

• Purchasing of materials and parts from various suppliers globally

• Inventory management including maintaining Minimum and Maximum quantities, lead-times, reviewing new products to add and lower performing products to eliminate.

• HR related tasks such as timecards, vacation, discipline, hiring, firing

• Ensuring proper HTS codes for products being imported/exported

• Ensuring warehouse team is up to date with IATA training (Has to do with products being safe to travel via Air shipment)

• Oversight on the physical Inspection of incoming parts, and ensuring parts are logged in ERP correctly

• Handling of international paperwork as necessary for Customs

• Logistics (everything related to shipping in and out)

• Oversight of larger customer accounts

• Oversight of customer orders prior to being shipped out

• Manage product pricing including quantity price breaks

• Negotiating costs with vendors

• Inventory reporting and forecasting

• RMA’s (create, receive and process)

• USMCA (NAFTA) paperwork

• Verification of ALL open Purchase Orders with suppliers weekly

• Warehouse oversight


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• 3+ years of B2B purchasing experience.

• 3+ years of experience managing inventory.

• 3+ years of experience overseeing partnerships with logistics vendors.

• Experience importing products from overseas (exporting a plus).

• Experience with ERP systems to manage inventory and reporting (Epicor a plus).

• Experience with product quality management.

• Experience managing pricing and profitability of products.

• Experience reviewing new products to be added and determining when to remove products.

• Vendor management experience.

• Price negotiations with vendors experience.

• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings.

• Experience with connecting ERP to eCommerce platforms is a PLUS.


Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and twisting, required.

• Ability to comply with safety requirements of manufacturing environment (for example: safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc.), required.

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently, required.
